I am officially a Beautycounter Consultant.
Don’t worry. I am still a Makeup Artist. That will never change. I will continue to provide the best products to my clients. I will be adding a blog of Beautycounter products as I review them myself. If Beautycounter was a company that I thought was not a good fit for my business, I would not have my name associated with it.
Beautycounter is a Skin Care and Cosmetic Company founded in 2013 by Gregg Renfrew. The main focus of Beautycounter is to get safer products for beauty and skin care in the hands of consumers.
I first heard of Beautycounter a few years ago. I was doing research on beauty companies and clean products. I did not pursue purchasing products based on my decision of having it shipped form the United States to Canada. Luckily now you can shop United States and Canada!!! Yay!
For most of my life I have loved makeup. The love started at an early age. Thank you Mom 🙂
I have provided makeup services for people for over 20 years. I became a Certified Makeup Artist and cofounded Loft House Studio 5 years ago with my photographer husband.
I started a new journey with a Holistic Nutrition Course to further grow my business. Health and Beauty go hand in hand in so many ways. One of the most important points we as consumers need to recognize is what are we consuming with our skin. That is where Beautycounter became more of an interest to me.
Skin absorbs EVERYTHING!. We need to go deeper than oh that’s pretty or it is only makeup or it is only lotion. It is much more than making ourselves beautiful. The beauty industry is a powerhouse. We have come so far since the beginning when makeup was first introduced but many of the regulations have remained untouched.
Products are getting better with advertising no parabens or no phosphates. Who cares and why does this matter?
Parabens were introduced to the food and cosmetic market as preservatives. These preservatives do a whole lot more than extend the life of a product. Parabens are linked to many things such as endocrine disruptions and cancers.
I have had requests from clients looking for natural products that are safe, vegan and cruelty free. Even my makeup brushes! At times it is hard to offer a more natural based product that can deliver a pro power along with it.
I am over all very pleased with every Beautycounter product that I have used. Enough so I was happy to add the products to my freelance kit. At first I was a bit apprehensive on becoming a consultant. I tried the products myself and there would be no commitment by me so it seemed like something I wanted to offer my clients. I will continue to use my pro products that I love. There are products that Beautycounter does not offer at this time. My clients and their needs come first. Always 🙂
Please do not get the wrong idea about Beautycounter. They are not a pyramid company. There are no scams here. They are not a fly by night company grasping for sales. Beautycounter is a company about education and informing people. Safer beauty no matter your age. A great product that will not harm you. Not to mention the products are excellent!
I have clients all the time asking me things that I would recommend to them. As I find my own needs changing, I need to find products that are going to help me age gracefully. It is never too late to start.
I have many clients that have allergies or sensitivities. Even some that have had issues wearing mascara! The Beautycounter volumizing mascara is my current favourite btw.
If you have any questions about any products or interested in any tips please do not hesitate to ask. Keep posted to read my future honest blogs reviewing products.
